The view was amazing and staff were very friendly. I did not realize that the rooms did not have A/C, so things were hot the first night (reception closed at 8:00), but they were able to get me another fan the second night l, which made things better. Overall, we really enjoyed the stay which included access to a local swimming hole which was very refreshing.
The restaurant was the most expensive meal we had in Costa Rica and to be honest, the food was not bad, but not good. Definitely not worth the money spent. We found food more reasonably priced and better tasting outside the resort.
I would strongly recommend this site if you want great views, friendly staff, the feeling of being alone, and don’t mind no AC.

The cottages are very comfortable even though they are not air conditioned. We were surrounded by nature! Breakfast and dinner were excellent!

Breakfast was good every morning and Micheal and Carlos are so nice along with Hazel at the front desk.

This is the second time I've visited La Cusinga and made great effort to get here again. It is a special place, not for the faint of heart. I spent a week alone at Cusinga, nestled in the rain forest. I had a magical week. La Cusinga is a special place but may not be for everyone, especially those looking for a luxury hotel.
We are guests in nature!
