Blue Beach Motel

Very good short-term stay. Great location to the beach and downtown area. Wifi needs to be better

The room was super clean, stylish, but somewhat austere. The bed was fantastic, and my back was happy for the couple days I visited. Translucent privacy curtains would be a nice addition instead of just the blackout blinds. Young man at desk seemed bothered to have to do my check in, and mumbled quietly through the whole interaction. Overall, I’d stay again.

What a gem! If you drive by you might not give it a second thought. This was once an old roadside motel that has been lovingly updated by some young folks who knew what they are doing. Super clean and everything is pretty simple in the rooms, but when you need a place to stay for just a few days, this was perfect. Nicest folks you would ever meet! There was a great brewery/restaurant next door, West Passage Brewery, and the food was great for both dinner and brunch (if you are there on the weekends). The hotel owner has networked with other small business owners, so we received a discount at the brewery and free coffee from a little coffee shop down the street. This hotel was one of the closest to the Rhode Island Ferry so that was a plus as well. Next time we decide to visit a couple of the old Victorian mansions at Newport or check out the sailing activities, definitely staying here.
