Really cute updated retro motel.

The room was very clean, well appointed, if basic. I hated the shower head, a handheld thing with a holder, with poor water pressure, but that was essentially my only complaint. The staff at the lobby/bar were very nice, check-in and check-out were a breeze, and the hotel has funky charm. The bar was a nice place for an afternoon cocktail, and we were happily surprised with live music on the patio the night we were there. There’s not a ton to do right around the hotel; the botanical garden is right across the street, but it was blazing hot when we were there, and we didn’t want to spend a lot of time outside. Thankfully, the hotel’s location on Route 66 means it’s easy to drive through town.
