We had a very short stop at this hotel (overnight for an early flight in the morning) but we had such a wonderful time in the pool and the gardens, and it felt so fulfilling when we left. The hotel staff accommodated us earlier than the usual check in time, and they were very welcoming to us. We strongly recommend this place to anyone who needs to catch up a flight in the morning but doesn’t have to waste their time and money in a chain hotel.

The original building is stunning and a walk into the past. It is filled with antiques and other beautiful ornamentation. However, The new wing of the hotel where most guests stay , is now 25 years old. It is in need of refurbishment. Still, the rooms are large, clean, with lovely traditional furnishings. Staff generally are gracious and willing to accommodate, however it took one hour to check in and deliver our luggage to the room. There was only one other guest checking in at the same time.
The grounds and pool are spectacular. I would return just for the pool. The food in the Asian restaurant aside the pool is delicious albeit service was very slow. All I. All I would happily return to this wonderful and comfortable hotel in Lisbon.
