Magnificent grounds, the approach on driving towards the Hall is stunning. It's a beautiful historic building with a very pleasant bar with lovely outdoor seating overlooking the grounds open until 10pm. Staff were polite, friendly and attentive. The breakfast was amazing. Lovely full cooked options and lots of fresh fruit with greek yoghurt and pastries etc ..
The room and ensuite bathroom was simple but very pleasant and the bed comfortable. There was a slightly musty smell in the room, possibly just the age of the property or the bathroom plumbing, but probably not helped by very hot weather. But it didn't bother us too much and overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

not a good sleep the first night due to a machine in the courtyard for freezing purposes.
apparently the normal freezer had broken.
however after we complained we were moved to another room which was a lot better in fact an upgrade on our previous room
hopefully the university of cambridge will rectify this in the not to distant future.
the staff were excellent

this is my usual place to stay when I am talking at the University as it is only a 10 mins drive for me. Breakfast in the morning is excellent. Room was clean, had a fridge, was a good size. Only negative was that the curtains didn't block out the light properly in the room I was in (Room 25). And the shower was a little difficult because it is set back from the bath, therefore you have to stand very close to get a shower as the pressure is not huge. However, this would not deter me from staying here as it is very convenient, great parking and always a perfect breakfast buffet.
