Loved our stay at Shanghai La cairns!
The room was spacious and the AC was comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the choice of pillows helped make it feel like home. The bathroom was a good size and water pressure was ok - shower head was a bit old so it dribbled a bit but still enough to clean.
The TV and chromecast was good and worked well in the room. The kettle was a bit dirty inside as though someone had put tea bags in it.
The grounds were wonderful, parking was easy, and the pool and pool bar were very convenient. The pool lounges however feel like they had worn through the foam, and I could feel a metal pole through the middle which made it hard to get comfortable.

Large hotel centrally located in Cairns Esplanade. The room was spacious. With large window overlooking the marina bringing it a lot of natural light. The bathroom was big with lovely toiletries and products. The “king” veg was two beds put together. The mattress was the softest and most uncomfortable mattress I have encountered. I was not able to sleep on it; I slept on the couch. The breakfast buffet had many choices.

We stayed in a king suite that overlooked the marina and esplanade. The view was well worth the extra. We enjoyed our room and the extras that came with it. Access to private lounge that included a large buffet breakfast and 2 hour happy hour every day for both of us was clearly worth the upgrade. Location was very close to good restaurants and walking distance to everything. Both location and accommodations were safe and well maintained. Highly recommend!
