Our stay at PortoBay was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms were comfortable, the facilities were excellent, and the location couldn’t have been better.
A huge shout-out to Alice, Alex and Daniel, and beach boys Caio and Isiah- who truly made our stay so special. They were incredibly welcoming, friendly and always went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Their genuine kindness, professionalism and attention to detail made us feel so well looked after, and they are a real credit to the hotel.
Every member of staff we met was warm and helpful, and the service throughout our stay was exceptional. We would happily recommend PortoBay to anyone visiting Rio de Janeiro and can’t wait to return.
Thank you again for making our trip so memorable!

Great location, staff was very helpful. Balcony suite overlooking Copacabana Beach provided gorgeous views. Breakfast buffet offered a variety of hot and cold options with traditional North American, European, and South American options. Pastries, cakes, and breads were delicious. Lovely views and attentive service. Rooftop pool with poolside service was a treat. Dedicated beach space with staff was a nice perk. Beach staff was helpful and attentive, took drink orders, offered to intervene with beach vendors if needed. Spa was being refurbished, but massage service was still available with a comfortable set up in a guest room converted into a small massage area and they accommodated us for a couples massage. Very relaxing! Overall, an excellent stay. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.
