The location is absolutely exceptional, right in the heart of Athens. It is perfect for exploring the main attractions on foot, and we were able to visit almost the entire city centre without using public transport. The area felt quiet and safe, and the apartment was clean and tidy on arrival.
The apartment was quite cold during our stay and, unfortunately, the heating from the air conditioning was not sufficient. The entrance door to the building also made quite a lot of noise at night when it was windy. We also experienced some difficulties with communication in general.

Excellent central location in Plaka, within easy walking distance of Athens’ main attractions, restaurants and shops. The apartment was easy to find and check-in was straightforward. The host, John, was very responsive and helpful whenever I contacted him.
The apartment is quite dated and would benefit from maintenance and updating, particularly the bathroom. There was no showerhead holder, so I had to improvise a way to hang the handheld showerhead to shower comfortably.
The hot water needed to be switched on at the electrical panel 40 minutes before showering and turned off afterwards, which was inconvenient.
The bedroom ceiling light was not working, and I needed to contact the host to locate other light switches. Instructions for operating the main building door when exiting would also have been helpful.
Having since read other reviews mentioning similar maintenance issues, it is disappointing these concerns have not been addressed. With some relatively straightforward improvements, this could be a lovely apartment given its fantastic location.
