We have been coming to the Gulf coast for many years and have learned that you should never expect a beach house to be aesthetically perfect. Sandy Hideaways was no exception. If you tried hard enough you could point out imperfections all over the place. However, it is a beautiful home that was comfortable, spacious, and met all our needs for our family vacation and everyone loved it. The views from the balconies were spectacular and we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing there throughout the day and evening. The kitchen had everything needed to cook full family meals and the under counter ice-maker was a big plus and used heavily. I like that we could have the whole family sit at the table for meals - we had such a great time around the dinner table. Wi-fi worked great and we were able to access our streaming accounts on the TVs easily (had to keep up with the World Cup!).Harris Vacations made the whole process so easy. They were responsive to our questions and we were never in need of anything. If there any improvements to make, it would be 1) there was too much furniture on the lower balcony making it hard to move around and 2) get a new set of skillets for cooking. The current set has seen better days. Tip: For a fantastic seafood meal to have at the beach house instead of going out, order a couple of steamer pots from Topsail Steamer. The food was fantastic and so easy to prepare. Our family enjoyed it so much we had it 2 nights during our stay!

Great house, perfect location, the beach access was perfect and the section of beach where we were was not really crowded. A lot of space for a big family and very clean.

The house was fine and location was great. The issue I have is that there were some issues that they used cheap fixes for that are falling apart. This isn’t a cheap home so it was a bit disappointing. The shower in the master bathroom is an example. They have obviously painted over the tiles several times. Huge pieces have flaked off. It’s only a couple thousand to completely retile a shower so why go cheap in a house that rents at this price point? Minimal rather cheap kitchen ware is another point. This house is lovely and the location is amazing but when I’ve rented other homes at this price point I’ve gotten use to a certain standard and this fell a bit short on that end.

Great property with beautiful views just steps to the beach and close to food and shopping. Plenty of room for a large family and dining area can seat 10 with 4 additional seats at the bar. Beds are comfortable with extra pillows and blankets if needed. There is no vacuum cleaner, which is a necessity when you’re on the beach. There is mold and mildew in closets and around most air vents, which is concerning. Tiles in shower and bath have been painted over, and almost all are peeling. BBQ grill is completely rusted out, so we were not able to use. Deck railing on main level is in serious need of repair. Every TV has multiple remotes, all with different connections, but no instructions. Also, thermostats are complicated and no instructions on how to use. Finally identified the type of thermostat online and were able to resolve.
