Facilities were fully equipped (towels, shampoo, shower gel). Noticed that the air-conditioning looks new, and the heating function works perfectly. The guests come and go (we were the only ones staying for more than one night), and mostly did not engage. Was hoping for more exchange but...
Overall still quite happy with the stay (stayed 5 nights) and we were left quite alone to ourselves, as most guests came in one night and left the next morning, so we almost had the whole place to ourselves, except when it came to using the bathroom at night. :-)
Kitchen is well equipped with an IH stove, and a big fridge if you wish to store anything. Tap water is potable and you can also cook if you want to. We had our breakfast (bread bought from supermarket) with hot coffees (brought our own drip-coffee bags and boiled hot water in kitchen).
The place is very convenient and there are popular eateries just across the street, although some have erratic operating hours/days (note they close after lunch and open for dinner around 5.30-6.00pm). Quaint cafe just a few steps away, opposite Shinano-Omachi station.
A big supermarket (Delicia) is about 6-8 minutes walk (across Family Mart), with a small Daiso a few steps next door.
We were lucky to be there for the muscat season and we had the best muscat ever, and super good apples too!
As the house is a bit old and all wooden, movements (opening/closing of room doors, which are mostly sliding doors), going up and down the stairs could be a bit noisy. Luckily most guests keep to the 'quiet after 10pm' rule.
Also the host's English is limited and could not really help us much. Conversation with him was limited, and we really would have loved to have more information about the place from him.
Host helped us to bring up our luggages but checking out we had to lug them down the stairs (2 old ladies..LOL) and it was a bit of an exercise.
