Unclean and unsafe so did not stay

Spacious, good parking and appeared to have a good amount of equipment needed in a home.

We couldn't stay. Property claims 'Family, Friendly', but the back garden had many hazards: an open greenhouse overrun with brambles; a neglected shed with a missing window, protruding loose boards, unlocked door, garden machinery accessible. BBQ was covered in a tatty, torn cloth. It appeared to be falling into the decking. Discarded items were between the back of the garage and the greenhouse. The property claims 'clean and spacious', but inside the property was unhygienic. Patio door view totally obscured by mineral deposits, with a notice saying 'Lock is broken, please do not open'. Both patio doors had mould visible between the panes. The kitchen's vinyl flooring was torn and a tripping hazard. There was an opened packet of mouldy crumpets in the breadbin. Culinary knives and a pan had considerable food residue on them. The utensil drawer was filthy inside and the pan cupboard was greasy. Another cupboard had a chunk missing out of the bottom shelf and a discarded piece of furniture in it. The boiler had its inspection panel hanging loose. Tea towel was stained. The newel post (supporting hand rail for the stairs) was loose, and swung from left to right. The top step onto the landing was 1/2" above the landing height. It was a serious trip hazard. Both bedrooms had hairs on the bed sheets, one also had some stains. One vinyl headboard was split and 'hidden' by netting. One cupboard drawer had stained, balled up socks, hair bobble and other debris. There was a stain on top of the wardrobe next to a packet of tissues. Lampshades were yellowed, perished and cracked. One bedside lamp had a thick layer of dust and debris in the drawer handles. One bedroom ceiling had many marks where flies had been swatted? The bathroom ceiling - mouldy above the bath area and door stained and dirty. The toilet - dark brown stains in it. The glass light fitting - debris in it. Property was too unhygienic to stay in.

Home away from home for families

The house is specious, truly family friendly, and well equipped. We liked that there was a bedroom and toilet downstairs for our elderly parents. The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful. There are local shops like co-op a few minutes away from the house. The owner was kind enough to leave a bottle of milk and some water bottles in the fridge. A welcome gesture much appreciated by us.
