Don’t waste your money on the Bear Secrets cabin. Go elsewhere!
The bear secrets cabin was cute from the outside
We drove 8hours and 47 minutes from our house to this retreat in the woods. The first thing we wanted to do when we got there was to get into the hot tub and relax because we’d been in the car all day. The first thing we did was bring our luggage in and go check out the hot tub. It was only 69 degrees!! I tried to get it to heat, but it looked like it was already set to 103 degrees. I called the 1-800 number and the man told me that the hot tubs go in sleep mode to conserve energy. It would take a while for it to heat up. We left the cabin for a few hours and came back and it was only 72 degrees!!
The next problem we had was the air conditioning. It was hot out and the cabin was 79 degrees inside. The thermostat was set to 71 and was set on cool. But no cold air was coming out of the vents. We slept with the windows and doors open that had screens. My girlfriend couldn’t sleep because she was terrified a bear would try to come in the cabin. So every time she heard a noise she freaked out.
The next morning we were still trying to sleep and we received a call from management wondering how our stay was. I informed them of the problems and said they’d send a maintenance guy out. A few hours later he showed up and discovered that the A/C disconnect was shut off, that’s why we didn’t have A/C and then he tried the buttons on the hot tubs and found an error code “LF” on the hot tub control panel. He made a phone call and then took the side of the hot tub off and reset something underneath. He said it would take a few hours to heat up and if it don’t heat to call back and he’d have to replace the spa pack. After he left we were able to leave the cabin and go do what we had planned. Later that night we came back and the hot tub was 103 degrees. We were excited to get in. The water was nice and hot, but when we turned on the jets to massage our backs hardly any water flow came out on low or high speed.
