Beautiful spacious home, comfy beds, plenty of hot water for shower & lovely large bath.
Felt remote and peaceful but nice there were a few properties around so not completely isolated.
Garden was a bit unkempt, there were scaffolding bits around and cigarette butts. Could do with a new front and back door as it’s starting to show rot and shower was a bit mouldy in the grout.

Hier ist die Lage wirklich König!
Die Unterkunft liegt ganz fantastisch mitten im Dartmoor. Man kann direkt von der Haustür zu den schönsten Touren aufbrechen und hat eine herrliche Aussicht.
Die Unterkunft ist gemütlich eingerichtet und hat ein uriges Ambiente. Der Kamin ist besonders schön!
Das einzige was uns nicht gefallen hat, sind leider typische Ferienhaus Probleme.
Leider war die Küchenausstattung dürftig und schmutzig. Wir haben einige Teile erst einmal spülen müssen, auch die Ablage war klebrig.
Die vorhandenen Töpfe waren für uns zu zweit ok, aber wenn man wirklich zu sechst käme (Platz wäre) fehlt zb ein großer Topf und ein paar mehr Tassen und Gläser. Teller und co waren aber reichlich da!
Der Gasherd, der erst einmal Gußeisenplatten aufheizen muss, ist unpraktisch, gehörte für uns aber zur Experience.
Auch die Fenster und Türen waren typisch britisch, mit sichtbaren Spalten durch die es zieht. Aber das gehört zum Charme.

Perfect location for exploring Dartmoor and the surrounding areas. Very peaceful and quiet and we were lucky with the weather. The cottage was well equipped and one of the neighbours helped when we had an issue with the hot water which we struggled to get back on (not used to using an Aga Oven system.) Would definitely visit again and explore more of the wilder areas and walking trails. This time we focused on beaches and towns as it was so hot.
The turn into the parking for the cottage is VERY tight. We have a Discovery 5 and could only just squeeze through the turn between two barns, definitely not for the faint hearted. Also, some of the roads in the area are very narrow and so there are delays if you come across another vehicle traveling the opposite way, again, not for the faint hearted! The location of the cottage makes up for it and worth it if you like to be in a more remote area away from the hustle and bustle and lots of other tourists.

It is a lovely place, great location and good size and set up. If everything was working we we definitely go there again. Easy to get out on the moors would be even better in the summer being able to sit outside.
The heating system was broken which in Jan was a little cold. The landlady did try to get it fixed while we were there but was unable so we went through a few bags of wood and used a lot if blankets. We were offered a discount but unfortunately this didn't come through.
