About this cabin rental

**Welcome to Mountain View Manor!**

Nestled between Boone and Banner Elk, Mountain View Manor offers easy access to everything the High Country has to offer. Valle Crucis, a charming mountain community, is just ten minutes from the cabin and centers around the Watauga River. Visitors can enjoy the original Mast General Store and Valle Crucis Park, which features a paved walking trail, picnic areas, and river access. Crab Orchard Falls is only five minutes from the Mast General Store and is a short hike from the falls. Downtown Boone, about thirteen miles away, offers a variety of local shopping, dining, and breweries. Banner Elk, about ten miles from the home, also offers shopping, dining, and outdoor adventures. Mountain View Manor is fifteen miles from Beech Mountain Ski Resort, where you can enjoy year-round outdoor activities for the whole family. In winter, you can ski, snowboard, and snow tube, while summer offers award-winning mountain biking trails, hiking, disc golf, and scenic lift rides.

Mountain View Manor is a newly constructed mountain home featuring custom finishes. Upon entering, guests are welcomed by vaulted tongue-and-groove ceilings with exposed beams throughout. The great room showcases floor-to-ceiling windows that fill the space with natural light and a large stacked rock gas fireplace, perfect for cozying up after a day on the slopes. Any chef would love cooking in the spacious kitchen, complete with stainless steel appliances, a large prep island, quartz countertops, and a farmhouse sink. The dining table seats eight, with three more at the island. Step out onto the covered deck to enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of wine while taking in breathtaking mountain views. Grill steaks for dinner on the gas grill or unwind in the hot tub after a day of hiking and exploration.

Downstairs, the den offers a perfect retreat for children to relax and play games on the PlayStation 5 or watch a movie on the HDTV. Gather around the wood-burning fire pit to roast marshmallows and share tales from your mountain adventures.

Mountain View Manor is a three-level home that can accommodate up to ten guests. The spacious main-floor master bedroom features a king bed and a private ensuite bathroom with a custom vanity and a tiled step-in shower. Upstairs, you'll find two additional bedrooms off the loft sitting area, each with a king bed and sharing a Jack-and-Jill bathroom. Additional sleeping accommodations are available in the lower-level den, which includes a queen sleeper sofa and a twin sleeper chair. A third full bathroom is conveniently located off the den.

Guests have access to Wi-Fi, Smart TVs, central air conditioning and heating, and a laundry room. Two dogs are welcome with an additional pet fee. Mountain View Manor is accessed via a gravel road with a steep gravel driveway, which you should navigate at moderate speed to avoid spinouts. Spent the week of Christmas in this mountain cabin (2 adults, 2 teens). Great time! Clean. Upscale. Updated. Awesome views. No complaints there. It’s listed in Banner Elk, but it is equal driving time to Boone and downtown Banner Elk. Sugar Mtn is the closest ski resort, then Appalachian and then Beech when you consider drive time. If you’re tubing go to Hawksnest. It’s the closest, least expensive and offers the most lanes by far. The listing recommends 4WD/AWD. I spent most of my time in 2WD, but kicked in AWD a few times. The driveway is steep. You’ll need AWD/4WD/chains to get to the house in the snow. You might see past reviews on this site and others complaining about there not being many household basics and essentials (I didn’t notice them until days before our trips). This is true. At this price point you should have cooking oil, foil, plastic wrap. That wasn’t the case. The only seasonings were a tiny salt and pepper shaker I’m pretty sure a past visitor left.Keep in mind we were there for a week, and we were given one roll of paper towel. I bought more. We were given 2 dishwasher pods. I bought more. My wife brought her own coffee machine and it’s a good thing she did because they only provided 2 cups for their machine and no sweetners. Just make sure you’re prepared. I brought extra laundry pods from home. There’s a Food Lion and Dollar General less than 20mins from the cabin. I bought a lighter for the campfire and left it there. YW.

The home is beautiful and we enjoyed our stay. The views are amazing and the home is clean and nice. Plenty of space for a 3 BR home. The home is managed by a rental company and that seemed obvious by the lack of items at the home. For example, I inquired ahead about a pack n play and I was told to rent one. This was not an inexpensive rental and I would expect the owners to invest in something for 100 to make the stay more comfortable and easier for guests. In general, the supplies were very limited. While I’m accustomed to bringing items to stay, this was the least stocked home I have ever stayed in. There are a lot of options for great homes in the area, and I would keep this in mind in the future.

We loved our stay here and didn’t want to leave! The house was extremely clean, plenty of linens, cozy blankets and kitchen fully stocked. We loved being able to have our dog stay with us and the property was also kid friendly. There is a retractable gate to close off the wrap around porch for safety. Not an issue for us, but no kid friendly plates or cups available (all glass). The view was stunning and we loved sitting on the porch at night. The gas fireplace in the living room was very cozy. I would not recommend driving up here without 4 wheel drive, very steep and rocky. The cabin was conveniently located to the towns - no close grocery store, about 20 minutes away. There is a Dollar General nearby.
