Very disappointing stay: poor communication and unacceptable cleanlines
The accommodation is in a great location, convenient for those who need to do research (close to Digital Futures) and easy to get to the University of Cincinnati.
I had a really disappointing experience with this accommodation.
When I arrived, I had to wait outside for around 40 minutes, calling several times without receiving any response. Once I finally managed to contact the owners, they told me they had lost my reservation, despite having received confirmation through Booking.com, including an updated arrival time.
The room I had booked was not available, so I was given an “upgrade” to a premium room. Unfortunately, the room was anything but premium. It was a perfectly ordinary room, and it was also extremely dirty. I had to vacuum, clean the furniture, clean the black baseboard—which was supposed to be white, and was black—and the room have dark stains on the carpet.
The bathroom and kitchen were also in a very poor state. There was significant dirt, and cockroaches were running around the kitchen at night. I ended up cleaning these areas myself because they were not in a condition I considered sanitary.
The cleaning lady only came once, three days after my arrival, and by then I had already cleaned most of the common areas myself.
I’m sorry to leave such a negative review, because the house has potential. However, the overall impression was that the owners are more focused on making a profit than on ensuring that guests feel comfortable and that the accommodation is properly maintained.
