About this apartment rental
"Peace, pleasure, rest. Relaxation where the heart of Tuscany beats."—That’s what “Fornace Del Conte”—the former “Count’s Brickworks”—offers you. We’ve restored it while preserving and rejuvenating its centuries-old architecture and have lovingly furnished it for our guests.
The “Elefantino” apartment combines all the charm of our estate in a single room beneath a dome—perfect for solo travelers and couples. With direct access to and from the garden, a queen-size bed (140x200), and a kitchenette with two stovetops and a refrigerator, it even offers the possibility of preparing simple meals.
This apartment got its name because here, at the highest point of the dome beneath which the apartment is located, is the historic coat of arms of the former count: it depicts an elephant beneath the count’s crown.

Our saltwater pool (10x5m) offers relaxation with a large wooden deck and a view over our vineyard to Montepulciano and Monte Generoso. The historic buildings are surrounded by additional terraces. Shade is available at any time of day in the inner courtyard and on a veranda in the annex. A little further away is a cozy pergola—perfect for moments of quiet or a shared meal under the shade of grapevines.

We serve a varied and generous breakfast in our historic dining room. You can round off the evening with a glass of our organically grown wine.

Information about the area
The “Fornace Del Conte” is located right in the heart of Tuscany: Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, Siena, Arezzo, Assisi, Cortona, Perugia, Orvieto, and numerous other picturesque towns are in the immediate vicinity. Many of our guests bring their own bicycles or rent e-bikes to experience the magic of the countryside off the beaten path even more intensely. Getting here is easy and convenient, whether by plane (Pisa, Florence, Perugia, Rome), by car (A1 Florence–Rome, Valdichiana/Bettole exit), or by train (the Terontola/Cortona train station is 20 minutes away). In the village (about 1 km away), there’s a very well-stocked supermarket with vegetables, fruit, cheese, meat, Tuscan prosciutto, salami, and other cured meats. Additionally, on weekdays, a fruit and vegetable vendor, a butcher, and a fishmonger take turns setting up shop in the village’s town square.
