About this villa rental
Villa Toricello is a beautiful rustic farmhouse in southern Umbria that sleeps 14 people, located just outside Lugnano in Teverina, a charming small medieval hilltop town. Lugnano is a 1-hour train or drive from Rome and a 2.5-hour train or drive from Florence.
Toricello is nestled among 7 hectares of olive groves, offering stunning views of the village of Lugnano and the Tiber Valley stretching all the way to Florence; behind the house, wooded hills surround the property. The house features a lovely outdoor terrace for dining, a large barbecue, and a pizza oven (which you can use yourself—we’re happy to offer advice and provide firewood!—or we can help prepare pizzas or barbecues), as well as a 15-meter pool surrounded by grass and overlooking the beautiful panorama. Inside: kitchen, living room with an indoor dining area.
Sleeps 14: Four double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms (one is a separate converted building with a view), and two double/twin bedrooms sharing a large bathroom.
Although convenient, it is not necessary to rent a car, as we can arrange train pickup (Attigliano station is 10 minutes away on the Rome–Florence line). There are two supermarkets and a small restaurant a 10-minute walk from the house, and the village of Lugnano (a 15-minute walk) is a beautiful historic village with two bars/cafés, a bakery, a small grocery store, a small health food store, a pharmacy, a bank, and a post office. Buses (every 2–3 hours) stop right outside the farmhouse and run to Amelia (15 minutes) and Orvieto (40 minutes), stopping at the small villages along the way. Trains from Attigliano (10 minutes away) run to Rome, Florence, Perugia, and Siena for day trips. Toricello is perfect for family vacations, groups, and parties.
