Everything as expected. Clean and welcoming. We definitely would stay there again. Less than a mile walk to the public beach and the Betsie Valley Trail (for running, biking or walking). Beach access for sunset watching just a few steps up the road.A few things to note (that would not prevent us from rebooking). 1) Yes, there is well water that is sometimes a bit smelly when brushing teeth or showering. It's not terrible.2) If you are going to open either door in the dark, plan ahead and leave the porch lights off. Many bugs will congregate with the lights on, and the opening of the door creates a suction that will draw them into the house. My son and his girlfriend spent a good while swatting at small bugs with paper towels wrapped around spatulas (which I did wash after!). Though hilarious, especially the sound my son made when one landed on him, it would be better if the bugs hadn't gotten in at all.3) There needs to be a broom and dustpan and/or vacuum (even a hand vac) available for guests to use. This would have helped with the sand we tracked in despite our best efforts not to and might have been helpful for bug mitigation as well.4) My son and his girlfriend (neither are large people) reported the pull-out bed was not very comfortable. They solved this by laying a folded blanket across the part that was the most problematic. The privacy screens for those using the pull-out were much appreciated and a very thoughtful touch.Overall, we loved it!

Cute decorated apartment. Comfortable, safe area . A little disappointed that Crystal Lake was not accessible to us fom our apartment. Yes, it was steps away but it was private property down by the water so we couldn't swim or do water activities there, we had to drive to the beach. Also. We were not thrilled with having well water in the apartment, it was smelly and challenging showering and brushing our teeth. Ugh!!
