Cancelled by the host within hours of arrival

Our stay was initially confirmed, but a few hours before our arrival (i.e. when we were already on our way) the hosts asked us to cancel the booking, no reason was given. Since this was a non-refundable booking, this felt like a scam. The hosts also didn't respond to questions to elaborate or about the refund, which we still didn't receive. I've now contacted Booking and PayPal, in hopes they can resolve this, but we're obviously very disappointed.

Dreckig, unfreundlich, absoluter Saustall!
