Basecamp Suites Revelstoke

On first glance this apartment was absolutely gorgeous, it was clearly built/refurbished very recently so was very modern and lovely high ceilings. The room was pretty big with a huge full kitchen, breakfast bar, bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom had lovely soaps etc available to use which were local which was cool. The shower was lovely. The bed was comfy and everything was very clean. The self check-in process went smoothly. Initially we did get a parking space but after going out in the evening we didn't get a space overnight but there is free parking on the street outside anyway so that was fine. The location was very good, right in the heart of Revelstoke so walking distance to bars, restaurants, cafes and shops. We didn't use the hot tub but there is one available to use on the roof which was pretty cool.

As I said above, on the surface this place is amazing however the longer we were here the more you notice it felt like cheaply completed new build. There were gaps under the door frame in our apartment so we got lots of these weird black (quite big) bugs coming in, we had to stuff the holes with tissue but still the next morning there were bugs on the walls inside. Since it's self check-in and there's no staff on site, we had nobody to contact about this. We also had 2 doors for our room, one we had a key for from the car park and then a main "front" door that opened onto the road but we didn't have a key for this so it felt a bit weird having a door right onto the main street that we had no control over opening/closing. This was also the door the bugs were coming in from, it felt unnecessary to even have this door because we couldn't use it. Our TV (which was massive so I was excited to watch) didn't work and again, nobody to contact. The blinds and curtains weren't completely black out and our room was on the ground floor so the street lights outside which are very bright lit the room up all night long so I didn't sleep well. I just felt like if this was so newly built, there were some finishing touches that were missed that would've made this place incredible. There were a lot of parking spaces but again, not enough for 1 per room which was fine because we got parked on the free parking street nearby but again, a bit annoying if you arrive late after a long drive and have lots of luggage. The self check-in and no staff on site which sometimes is really nice just felt like cost cutting rather than for ease of the people using the place.

Clean, spacious, contemporary space. Well situated in town. Great products in the shower. Would stay again!

Soap dispensers at bathroom sinks did not function well. It seems the walls need to be washed, wiped down, or receive a fresh coat of paint as clear finger prints and scuffs were visible throughout.

Location was great, modern/simple furnishings. Staff were excellent and helpful. Well equipped kitchen. Suite was very clean and bright. Parking was excellent. We were very relaxed in the suite.

Stairs were an impediment during loading and unloading from vehicle. Some LED ceiling lights in kitchen were burnt out with one in a state of shock with frequent flickering. Kitchen table top is loose and was unable to stabilize causing drinks to spill. Suite was directly across from the cleaning station which had constant staff traffic and noise throughout the day. Exhaust fan in one bathroom was essentially plugged with limited airflow. These are minor complaints, but would hope these items would be corrected.
