The St. Thomas apartment is located on the first floor of an elegant apartment building in the center of Rome, 12 minutes from the Vatican Museums, St. Peter’s Basilica, and Castel Sant’Angelo. It consists of a spacious bedroom with an en suite bathroom featuring a walk-in shower; a large living room with a colorful sofa and an armchair that converts into a single bed; and a well-equipped open kitchen. There is a large, bright patio that wraps around the apartment.
From the St. Thomas Apartment, you can easily reach various points of interest on foot, such as St. Peter’s Basilica, Castel Sant’Angelo, the Vatican Museums, the Cipro Metro station, the Clodio Courthouse, the Ophthalmic Institute, and the Olympic Stadium.
Other tourist, historical, and cultural attractions—such as Piazza Venezia, the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, the Trevi Fountain, Campo de’ Fiori, and Trastevere—are still within a few dozen minutes’ reach via metro, bus, taxi, or your own car.
The area also offers opportunities, for those who are interested, to go shopping, dine in charming restaurants, and take romantic walks. The apartment is located in the PRATI neighborhood, the youngest in terms of its founding but certainly not the least in elegance, prestige, and beauty. The area’s history dates back to the 1st century B.C., when Nero ordered the martyrdom of Christians at the bend of the Tiber, later named Prata Neronis. It was renamed “Prata Sancti Petri” in the Middle Ages and later “Prati di Castello,” due to the nearby presence of Castel Sant’Angelo, which is also the symbol of the district even though it belongs to the adjacent Borgo district.
The neighborhood was built in the second half of the 19th century.
