Extremely Disappointing Experience – Last-Minute Cancellation After 5-Hour Journey We booked this accommodation approximately one year in advance, paying £565.96 for what we expected to be a confirmed and secure reservation. After travelling for over five hours to reach our destination, we were contacted just 30 minutes before check-in time and informed that our booking was being cancelled due to the property being “under maintenance.” To make matters worse, after sending this message, the management stopped responding entirely, leaving us stranded with no place to stay after a long journey. We immediately tried to seek assistance through Booking.com to secure alternative accommodation but were unable to reach a customer service representative in time. As it was getting late and we had nowhere to stay, we were forced to arrange emergency alternative accommodation at a cost of £553, plus a mandatory £125 damage waiver fee. This experience resulted in: • Significant stress and inconvenience after a five-hour journey • Unexpected additional costs due to a same-day cancellation • Being left without support at a critical moment What makes this even more unacceptable is that we have still not received any refund for the original £565.96 booking, nor any reimbursement for the additional costs incurred, and no resolution has been provided. Cancelling a confirmed booking on the day of arrival — especially after it was secured a year in advance — is completely unacceptable. If the property was undergoing maintenance, this should have been communicated well before the day of check-in. This situation caused unnecessary financial strain and emotional distress and significantly impacted our trip. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this accommodation. Travellers should be aware that confirmed bookings may not be honoured, even after long travel arrangements have been made. Very disappointing.

The view

The apartment is tired. Needs some major TLC, carpets are heavily stained as are the walls. We had no hot water on day two or the morning of check out so couldn't shower. The management doesn't tell you that you have to pick up the keys from a different location and expect you drop them back off there as well. They do not tell you this til the day of arrival. Overall I wouldn't book again or recommend.
