Thoroughly disappointing

Not a lot to like really. Was thoroughly disappointing. But the location was convenient and parking for 2 cars was a positive.

Was overwhelmingly underwhelming. The pictures were not representative of the current standard of this property, which was decidedly rough around the edges to be polite. So upon arrival the boiler was not functioning, no heating or hot water in the property. The bath was full of cold water because apparently the lady who maintained the property had resealed the bath....shame she didn't take the time to maintain any of the other faults. So, the list of broken/faulty things first; Drawer front on chest of drawers in 2nd double bedroom, broken, was detached and stood against wall. Blind in master bedroom was missing. Shower in master didn't drain properly. Leaky radiator in master. 2nd bedroom door didn't click closed....but not to worry, a doorstop was provided to wedge the door shut. Bedside lights in 3rd bedroom didn't work. List of things that just didn't meet the standard; The sofa, that was a 4 seater at best....for a house that sleeps 5. There was nowhere to hang coats There was no coat hangers in the wardrobe in bedroom 2 and minimal elsewhere. We were provided with 1 towel each.....for 5 nights. We were given 1 toilet roll in each bathroom, this was never replenished in our 5 night stay. We didn't mind buying more, but really? No spare toilet rolls? Lots of other little niggles and things that were poor. It felt like no one cared about the people staying there. No one had taken the time to fix the faults or given any attention to making it a nice functional place to stay. We didn't expect the ritz, but we did expect somewhere clean and reasonably maintained. We didn't get this.

Pleasant 5 days spent exploring Durham and the surrounding area, thank you for hosting us.

Very cleanly presented property, easy to find and which is conveniently located just outside Durham. Didn’t take or hire a car so relied on the local buses and taxis which didn’t present too many problems. Buses were reasonably frequent during the week day but reverted to one an hour after 7pm at night and at weekends. Taxis were plentiful.

Kitchen dining table and seating was functional but was on the ‘picnic bench’ style so not too comfortable but was adequate for breakfast as we ate out for lunch and dinner.

Very cleanly presented property, easy to find and which is conveniently located just outside Durham. Didn’t take or hire a car so relied on the local buses and taxis which didn’t present too many problems. Buses were reasonably frequent during the week day but reverted to one an hour after 7pm at night and at weekends. Taxis were plentiful.
