The flat is located in the heart of Reims, overlooking the Place du Forum, where all amenities are in immediate reach - from a decent bakery just downstairs, to several grocery stores just around the corner. And of course tons of cafes and really good restaurants close by.
The apartment is spacious with loads of natural light, and given that it's higher up and that the windows are fairly new, there's basically no noise coming from the street. Parking options are also close by, if you travel by car, like we do.
What I also liked is the draft I was able to create across the flat, which always guarantees a good sleep. The beds were also comfortable and (for French standards) big enough.
Things like the toilet being covered in stubborn limescale (for years probably) and the kitchen having just about the minimum dishes necessary, as well as the windows not being cleaned for months are kinda annoying, but one eventually gets over it.
The thing I just cannot get my head around, however, is the fact that the check-in was at 17.00 - which on its own is a bit of a pain, but with the keys having to be picked up from a massive locker station on the other side of the city center, where probably the company managing the rentals is located, just added fuel to the fire. With all due respect to punctuality - arriving at 16.30 at the lock, which "understandably" didn't open, so we had to wait the 30 minutes to exactly 17.00 - this gave me plenty of moments to get riled up. Partially, because a check-in means checking in INTO THE AMMENITIES and not PICKING-UP the keys and walking another half an hour to the flat, or in-between even to the car, adding up to the actual check-in being at 17.35 ... Anyhow - all of this would still be swallowable until the arrogant way of communicating from the side of the owners/managers. Of course - all in French, because why would one bother to write in English or any other language in the 21st century in a united Europe (fortunately Booking now offers translation of texts, so I don't have to copy-paste stuff to Google translate).
Interestingly (and naturally) of course, an automated message came the night before check-out with the question about the planned leaving and other instructions. Here leaving earlier of course was expected or wished for, while the check in will be "exactly as written in the booking information" at 17.00 and not a minute earlier.
All in all - this is a good flat in a beautiful city, with rather unfriendly hosts. But fortunately you don't have to be friends with them.

Appartement spacieux idéalement situé dans reims à 5mns de la cathédrale. Pleins de commerces à proximité immédiate.
La literie est confortable, lave linge, lave vaisselle etc
Pour se garer, un conseil, aller au parking de la cathédrale, possibilité de forfaits 2,3 ou 4 jours avec entrées et sorties libres (à 10mns de la place du forum et bien moins cher).
Un peu juste au niveau vaisselle (un seul mug par exemple)
Pas de code d'accès pour entrer mais un badge. Quand on est plusieurs ce n'est pas commode.
Mais ce sont des détails au regard des avantages de ce bel appartement.

Clefs à récupérer dans une boîte à plusieurs kilomètres du logement. Difficulté stationnement dans cette rue et à proximité du logement. Annonce non respectée : pas de lit bébé comme indiqué. Grave problème de sécurité : court circuit dans le câble de la lampe de chevet avec étincelle.
