Sadly, a very expensive disappointing booking in Sydney.

The apartment is in a perfect location. It is also quite spacious and basically well designed for an old building, the veranda out from the main bedroom was also pleasant to sit out on. The beds were comfortable, as were the Livingroom chairs. The kitchen has a good supply of crockery and cutlery which was clean and without chips.

The bed linen and towelling supplied (bath towels, hand towel - only one and bathmat - also only one, for a 4 night stay with 4 adults), were well worn, with fraying edges, one towel was so worn it had a hole in it!! The bath-towels were very skimpy in size and thin in quality and no facecloths, which meant the end of the skimpy towel had to become a dual-purpose washing and drying article. We had been left only one tiny tea towel(which after asking, the owners supplied 2 further tea-towels, thank you), no dishcloth (we were told to use paper-towelling, which was supplied, but you can't effectively wipe a table down with a dry or wet paper-towel!) The sheets on the king bed were obviously for a queen bed as they did not tuck in on either side of the bed, the pillowcases could barely contain the pillows which bulged out beyond the retaining flap and the duvet inners wrapped between the 2 sheets on both beds were stained and like the towels, clearly old and threadbare. The apartment details advertised a washing machine and tumble dryer, which we were hanging out for, having been travelling for 10 days, but only to discover the tumble dryer dried absolutely nothing! The clothes tumbled for over an hour and were as wet as they were when we put them in. I have never experienced success with the combo washer/dryer and this machine was no different. It absolutely does not dry your clothes. Lastly, the apartment was not clean. The kitchen floor was sticky, there was black mould on some of the tiles around the bath tapes, and we discovered (thank goodness on our last evening when packing our bags) under both double beds the floors were filthy with paper and plastic rubbish, lumps of hair and dust balls. The covered bench at the end of the king bed was also covered in stains.

The location was excellent. The beds were comfortable.

The bathroom sink is impractical. The instructions given for where to find things around the apartment were incorrect. There was no access to the outside area near the living room. The stove would not turn on. For the price paid, I was disappointed.

Excellent location. Nice area to explore both harbours, wharves, green space, landmarks. Food and shops nearby on Darling Harbour, the wharf area or Circular Key. Nice walk to Circular Key or to access public transport/other parts of the city. Host communication was great.
