Overrated and Disappointing Experience
Positives: To be fair, the location is lovely, nestled near the mountains, offering beautiful scenery. There was also a nice play area for the kids, which they really enjoyed.
We chose this property because of its high rating and great reviews, but unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations.
Wi-Fi: The internet relies on a mobile connection, and since the property is located near the mountains, where mobile reception is poor, it was practically unusable. Relaxing in the evening to watch a movie or browse was simply impossible.
Dirty Bed Linen: The bed linen was clearly not fresh—it had stains, flakes, and hair from previous guests. At least we received some compensation points from Booking.com for this issue.
Mattress: So, we needed to wash the linen ourselves, and after we removed it from the mattress, we were shocked by its condition. The mattress was in an absolutely terrible state—stained, foul-smelling, and looked as though it had been found abandoned outside.
Cleaning Issues: The kitchen was also disappointing. We had to rewash all the dishes before using them, and even the kitchen towels were dirty, so we had to wash those as well.
One more thing: The pictures on the listing showed a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, which made us excited for the holiday season. However, when we arrived during Christmas/New Year, there was no tree in sight. It seemed to be just part of the marketing effort to create a "nice host" image.
For a property with such a high rating, these problems were unacceptable. While the location and play area were nice, the lack of cleanliness, poor Wi-Fi, and the host’s dismissive attitude overshadowed the positives. Unless the property significantly improves its hospitality standards, I cannot recommend staying here.
