Unimpressed
The ad on Booking.com
Unfortunately we were not prepared to stay. The single room looks directly into the neighbors kitchen and by implication there is zero privacy. The room was however clean. The advertised braai come outside fire pit area was a mess. The host was amicable and understanding that we were not comfortable with the space and agreed to cancel our 3 night booking without any fees.

Stay far away from this dump.
Nothing
My wife and I travel both locally and internationally for the past 30+ years. We are not fussy people but this was the worst ever. When we arrived, the person did not even know that we were supposed to check-in. The place was filthy starting from the deck chairs outside which we didn't even want to sit on. On the inside some of the plugs did not work. The shelves were filthy and full of dust. The view is into the neighbour's basement which is 5 metres away. The soup holder in the shower is broken. There is no soap and no shampoo which are standard nowadays even in the cheapest of places. The toilet seat is too small for the toilet. There is a large piece of painted wood over a door separating the room from the main house. Only after we arrived, the helper started sweeping the driveway which was covered in dust and leaves. We checked-out 30 minutes later and enquired about a refund. We were told there will be no refund as others could have booked. We didn't even care and just wanted to get out. That is how bad it was. Somehow we did not check the reviews this time as we were in a rush and did not expect a place in Wilderness to be this bad. Tip to self: Check the reviews very carefully before booking and book for one night only if unsure.

Terrible. The hosts really need to up their gam and hosting skills. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
It was newly renovated.
There is false advertising. We did not have a sea view- the picture demonstrated is from an upper balcony that we did not have access to. The main bedroom is tiny and right off the kitchen. I did not have a lightbulb in my bedside lamp, so I could not read. The entire apartment is quite dark as well.
It was only clean superficially. I found a beer lable (Castlel Light) on the couch in the lounge. The kitchen was really dirty.
The cutlery drawers had old sticky dirt, the kettle, toaster and pots were old, rusty and dirty. The pots are kept in a cupboard under the sink and the handles of the pans had mould in it. The cutting board was stuck to old dirt. The only space to pack your food was in the broom cupboard.
There wasn’t a dish cloth to wipe surfaces- we had to buy one. The sponge for cleaning dishes was dirty and old.
We also had to ask for the internet password, then it didn’t work properly- we had such bad signal we had to disconnect and use mobile data. It took the host a few hours to get back to us, only after i called (I had sent SMS message as well as a message on Booking.com)
Lastly, the couches in the lounge are really uncomfortable- it feels as if you are sitting in a plane pushed forward.
We booked for two nights but left after spending one night there.
