Clean room. We were there on a very rainy week (late Sep) so no auroras but we were kept warm through the night. It was a unique experience. A suggestion would be to put a simple mirror where the coffee machine is. Also, another suggestion is to do a video on how to unlock the door. We struggled a little but had someone interrupt our night looking for help to open their door.

We stayed at Aurora Igloo South on September 18 and had an extremely disappointing experience. We arrived around 8 PM and shortly afterward began finding spiders throughout the igloo, on the floor, walls, curtains, and even the bed. Within about two hours, we had killed at least a dozen spiders. At that point, we did not consider the room reasonably habitable or somewhere we could comfortably sleep. We immediately contacted the 24/7 customer service line and were told there were no other igloos available for us to move to. We therefore had no reasonable option but to leave and pay for a new hotel elsewhere. Customer service instructed us to submit a refund request by email, which we did the same night. It has now been a week, and we still have not received a refund or had the situation properly resolved. We understand that this is a rural accommodation and that occasionally seeing insects or spiders may be unavoidable. However, finding more than a dozen spiders throughout the room, including on the bed, within only a couple of hours is unacceptable. The lack of follow-up has made the situation even more frustrating. We could not use the accommodation we paid for, had to pay for another hotel, followed the refund instructions provided by customer service, and a week later the issue remains unresolved. Based on both the condition of the room and the lack of resolution afterward, I cannot recommend Aurora Igloo South.

What a great place! The dome was much more comfortable than I thought. The bed was so comfortable. Such a cool experience. I definitely would book again and suggest this on your route while in Iceland. I’d suggest stay when not so exhausted from flying in. So you can fully enjoy the night sky. Book & enjoy you won’t be disappointed:-)

Very disappointing, especially for a stay that cost $500+. I had high expectations for the glass dome experience, and while staying in a glass dome was definitely unique and enjoyable, the condition of the property did not justify the price. The dome clearly needs better maintenance. The floor was cracked and created a real trip hazard. The gap around the dome and floor was extremely dirty and looked like it had not been properly vacuumed in a long time. The shower area was also dusty. The walkway to the dome is unpaved, so be prepared if you have large or heavy luggage. The concept is great, but the property needs significant improvement in maintenance, cleanliness, and upkeep. At this price point, I expected much better. I cannot recommend this stay in its current condition.

The view is amazing. Nice experience. Be prepared for the midnight brightness for July though. They do provide eye mask. Only suggestion is that the grass near the path need some maintenance. It wet my pants when it's raining and it's a bit hard for my little one to walk through. Overall we enjoy our stay.
