a nightmarish night

Nulla

If I could give zero stars, I would. We booked the place not for the Harry Potter theme, but solely for the air conditioning, given this summer's scorching temperatures. The street is pedestrian-only; we had to park two hundred meters away. The stairwell is a dump—dirty and in poor condition. It features a spiral staircase that is particularly steep, making it very difficult to haul suitcases up to the top floor. Since the "Burrow" is an attic space, it was sweltering. We turned on the air conditioner, which was incredibly noisy and didn't actually work. We switched on the fan, but it kicked up so much dust that it triggered an allergy attack (which was still mild for my daughter). Real cobwebs—complete with spiders and prey—were mixed in with the fake ones. There were piles of dust on the decorative suitcases and the chessboard, and the home cinema system didn't work. But the worst part was the exhaust from the ground-floor restaurant venting right into the apartment. It was impossible to open the windows, but even worse, the stench of mussels and roast pork seeped in even with the windows closed. Stepping into the bathroom felt like being inside a deep-fryer. Between the allergy attack, the unbearable stench, and the stifling heat, my child vomited six times in a single night. We had a four-day booking but fled after just twelve hours. We tried to contact the host but got no response. We filed a report with Booking.com and received a refund for only one night (we had proposed at least 50%). We had to completely change our holiday plans and find an alternative, but there was no way we could stay in a dump like that.

Perfect!

The location was wonderful - restaurants and a market on Saturday morning - and our two boys (5 and 7) adored the decor!

It was perfect for a stop off in saumur.

Wizard!

Amazing for the kids - the first 20 minutes after we arrived were exploring the flat! Also used the projector to enjoy a Harry Potter movie together after a long day walking up to Saumur Castle

The stairs to the property and the stairs to the top bedroom won't be for everyone

He sido maquinista naval.
