Warm, Cozy, and an Exceptional Host
From the moment we arrived, Lily’s Place felt warm, cozy, and welcoming. Tommy is an exceptional host who went far beyond what we expected.
Even before our arrival, he contacted us through Booking.com to ask if we had any dietary requirements because he was putting together what he modestly called a “continental breakfast.” What we found waiting for us was so much more! There were antipasto meats, smoked salmon, cheeses, wine, snacks, cookies, oatmeal, yogurt, tea, coffee, and more. It was an incredibly thoughtful welcome.
Tommy also sent detailed instructions in advance explaining exactly how to find and access the property, where to park, and even included photographs of the gate and entrance. When we arrived, he greeted us personally, gave us the key, and walked us through the apartment.
The apartment itself was wonderfully warm and comfortable. The heat was already on when we arrived, and there were additional space heaters in every room that we could use if we wanted them.
What made our stay especially memorable, though, was Tommy himself. When we arrived, he told us, “You’re in my home now,” and he truly meant it. He took a genuine interest in making sure we enjoyed our stay. Whenever we had a question, he was immediately available to help.
He recommended local attractions and restaurants and even called restaurants for us to make sure they were still serving dinner before we headed out. Those small acts of kindness made such a difference.
The location was another big plus. Birr village and Birr Castle were within easy walking distance, making it simple to explore the area without having to drive. We even walked to the local farmers market. It was wonderful to be able to leave the car behind and discover Birr on foot.
Lily’s Place was more than simply a comfortable place to stay. We felt welcomed, looked after, and at home.
There really wasn’t anything we disliked. The apartment was exactly as advertised on Booking.com, and everything met or exceeded our expectations.
