We had a great stay at LOKAL Rooms x Skardu (Katpana Retreat). Instead of a typical, generic hotel, it feels like staying in your own private bungalow set right next to the stunning cold desert landscape with beautiful scenery all around. The accommodation felt very safe and secure, featuring a locked entrance gate that ensured complete privacy and peace of mind.
A huge highlight was the exceptional hospitality provided by the manager, Muhammad Issa Khan, and his staff. They were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and helpful throughout our entire stay. Having fresh meals brought directly to our bungalow upon request was a wonderful touch that made our time there even more comfortable.
It is somewhat isolated, so you cannot easily walk to nearby shops or grocery stores. Having a dedicated driver or private transport is necessary for getting around. There were occasional brief power outages, but the electricity always came back on almost instantly.
