House was clean, comfortable, and charming - would definitely stay here again!
It was quick and simple to get into the house (MUCH appreciated after a long drive). When we arrived, everything was very clean and ready for us - the kitchen was well-stocked with basics (dishes, utensils, pots and pans, cooking staples), there were fresh towels in every room, and there were even thoughtful extras like campfire starters and dog treats (we brought along my bulldog). The only things I had to buy at the store were food/perishables (they even had a bunch of bottled water in the fridge for us!). We had a day of bad weather, but there was great wifi and a nice Samsung TV to keep us entertained indoors until the sun came out. The outdoor areas were lovely and the pines smelled AMAZING in the mornings! I did a fair amount of cooking/baking using the kitchen appliances and all were fairly modern, very clean, and worked well. Same goes for the laundry machines, which had detergent pods provided. The house was very conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood near the Pequot Lakes downtown area - there was a cute park with a splash pad down the block (my 3-year-old loved it), a nice grocery store <5 mins down the road, and it was only about 10 minutes from the Breezy Point Resort. The check-out requests were very reasonable and our booking contact was extremely responsive and personable.
It is an old house (Zillow said it was built in 1910) which I actually loved and found to be very charming, but can see how folks not used to old houses may find it unexpected (I saw previous reviewers who were unhappy that some of the stairways didn't have railings, for example). There's just the one bathroom, so if you have a big group, you'll want to consider that. I did have some issues with the master bed sinking on one side (but since I had it to myself, I just slept on the other side without any issue - it was a huge king-sized bed). The shower is also a bit old, and but still functional (just no baths) and very clean.

Great potential, needs little $ updates.
Nice, quiet neighborhood, convenient location.
While this home has potential and is in a good location, our stay over the weekend was unfortunately marred by numerous maintenance, comfort, and safety issues that need to be addressed.
Safety Concerns:
Basement Stairs: There is no handrail leading down to the basement. Since the washer and dryer are located there, this is a major safety and liability hazard.
Secured Window: The window in the smaller first-floor bedroom had no lock and was actually open a couple of inches when we arrived, which felt very unsafe.
Garage Roof: The metal roof on the detached garage is loose. On a windy Friday afternoon, it was dangerously folding up and lifting, as it made loud bangs, forcing us to go inside for our safety.
Cleanliness & Maintenance:
We found pet hair in the sheets in the small bedroom. While we understand this is a pet-friendly home, finding hair on the bedding gives the impression the sheets were not washed prior to our arrival, and we had to rewash them ourselves.
The cold water handle in the shower kept completely coming off in our hands.
The master bedroom bed frame is broken; if you sit on the edge of the mattress, it falls straight through to the frame. While sleeping on that bed, left side, you roll, as frame broken or slates out. Both main floor mattresses need to be updated, and better mattress covers.
Amenities & Convenience:
Coffee: The standard coffee maker took nearly an hour to brew 10 cups. The older Keurig had a reusable pod that did not fit the machine, leaving us to boil water and use a single-cup drip funnel. Replacing the main coffee maker with a basic, inexpensive model would be a massive upgrade. ($17-$20 @ Walmart).
Bathroom & Mirrors: The home only has one bathroom, and the smaller bedroom had no mirror at all. Trying to get ready for a wedding with a compact mirror or interrupting guests in the master bedroom was highly inconvenient. A simple wall or full-length mirror in that room is sorely needed.
