Robbed

Money went missing from my room and gas from my gas tank in my vehicle. I notified the staff at the Mayan Lakes and Mayan Resort. This condo is 30 minutes from town. No reimbursement for either, no help to get back to town to get gas, nothing. I was on my own. A group of women I met at the resort helped me.

They charge a reasonable cleaning fee but there was hair on the rugs and coffee grounds in the coffee maker. I took photos. After what happened with my money getting stolen and gas taken from my vehicle I didn’t bother with that. The condo is in an abandoned condo complex. There were 3 units being rented out including mine. It was scary. There are two security shacks before the complex. The first is off the highway and doesn’t check reservations. The second leaves the gate open while they sleep. For what we get charged to stay there the security should get paid enough not to steal and the maids enough to clean. The unit is a 5-6 minute drive from the resort which is your only access to the beach. The unit has a smart tv, you can login to your streaming services. My host didn’t know that. The unit does have everything to cook and do laundry. You get access to the Mayan Resort included in your stay. Their staff has crap customer service too. A vendor for the resort parked a truck in front of me, on the beach, for 4 hours…I was the only person there. They could have parked anywhere else. I called the front desk 4 times to tell the vendor to move. They did nothing. You get free valet when you go to the resort. But one of the valet guys was a bit handsy everytime he saw me. It’s unfortunate I had such a rotten experience. Customer service is just really bad there. Considering these condos are associated with the resort I expected much better customer service.
