Great stay in Chisinau center

The apartment is really fully equipped, air conditioned, clean, comfortable, quiet and spacious, with even office space. Also, the location is great, and the area is upscale. Everything you need and want to visit in the city is within walking distance. Finally, the host greeted me in person during arrival and responded to every request.

⭐ 1/10 — Fraud, 3-hour wait at check-in, and unauthorized reservation modification

Terrible experience from start to finish, involving what appears to be deliberate fraud and complete disregard for basic hospitality standards. Check-in chaos: Upon arrival, we were told to wait for the host to come and collect payment in person. We waited 3 hours with no sign of them, receiving confusing and contradictory instructions, being directed to multiple different addresses. No receipt or payment document was ever issued. Apparently, the expectation was that guests should either wait indefinitely in the apartment or chase the host around the city. Unacceptable property conditions: Strong sewage smell from the drains throughout the stay The main shower was non-functional The small portable shower had nowhere to be mounted or attached The toilet cistern worked intermittently — sometimes flushing, sometimes not Checkout harassment: Despite the clearly stated checkout time of 12:00, we were repeatedly asked when we were leaving. After confirming we would leave between 11:00–12:00, a cleaner arrived at 11:45 to enter the apartment — while we were still inside. This is completely unacceptable and a serious violation of guest privacy. Post-stay fraud: After checkout, on 31 May, I received a Booking.com confirmation email stating my reservation had been "modified" — retroactively changed from 3 nights (24–27 May) to just 1 night at €5. I never authorized this change. The stay was fully completed and fully paid. This modification was made without my knowledge or consent, and appears to be a deliberate attempt to manipulate booking records and reduce the commission owed to Booking.com. Due to the check-in chaos I was forced to cancel and rebook, causing me to lose an approximately €15 cashback I was eligible for. I have full documentation: original booking confirmation, payment records, WhatsApp chat logs proving the 3-hour wait, and the fraudulent modification email. Formal complaint filed with Booking.com. Avoid this property at all costs.
