Arrived after hours, due to a late booking and pressed the duty manager call button as there was no information or key for me. Oceana was very helpful and kind despite my late arrival. Glendhu Bay is quiet and beautiful and I would recommend. There was an on site kitchen, lounge and dining area for all.

On site - Showers required coins for use. Ensure you have had a meal in Wanaka or have food to prep with you as there is nowhere to eat or purchase nearby.

Clean and staff were friendly.

Big turn off was having to pay to use the showers. If you have an EV, even though they have the infrastructure, you cannot charge there, so take that into consideration.

The cabins were spacious and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Loved the coffee machine in the kitchen.

Shower was terrible, it was either super hot or cold and dribbling out. My husband said his was great so I must have just gotten a poor shower.

The location is the redeeming part about the cabin that we were assigned at Hampshire Holiday Parks Glendhu Bay.

They have no ensuite rooms. All the cabins require visitors to walk to a shared bathroom across a driveway. To their credit, the bathroom had a warm heater running, but it’s the cold walk getting there. There’s an outdoor setting for each cabin on the deck, but check carefully before sitting down. Ours had tree litter and animal droppings on it. They do not provide the additional items (tea, coffee, sugar, milk, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel) that are found in most similar accomodations so be prepared to bring your own. We also noticed there’s no cutlery, or plates spoons cups. There’s no provision of a tea towel for drying washed items, so we used paper towel provided in their kitchen. They charge $3.50 for a 250mL packet of milk. That equates to $14 per litre. Now that’s what I call price gouging!!
