The property is 10-15mins drive from the centre. This made it tricky to get taxis to collect from the house in peak summer. Taxis home were not a problem. We found them easily from the ranks in the centre. The house itself is mixed. some parts (eg windows and doors) are very old and could do with updating. Other parts (bathrooms) are modern and excellent. The view is the standout feature. It was incredible. It made our entire stay! the views from both the terrace where we ate and the pool are are stunning. The beds are comfortable and the Aircon was excellent throughout the house. A great house for a large party, there were ten of us adults and we were very comfortable. The outside bar by the pool area is another great feature, lots of fun was had there. The pool is a little on the small side but clean and a pool guy came twice during the week we were there to maintain it which was great. Overall, the views, terrace and pool area made it an unforgettable stay!
The Windows and doors need updating. We arrived on a Saturday, we were only given one key to the house and one key fob for the gates on arrival, we had to ask and arrange pick up of another set, the office was closed for Sunday so we had to wait two days to get a second set which wasn't ideal with 10 of us adults and two cars. We were told the cleaners had the second set and the agents couldn't get them back until the Monday.
There is a major flaw with the door/lock situation which is that the front door locks on shutting. It then needs a key to open it. However, because this is the only way in and out to the pool, it meant that we had a choice of either leaving the front door (which opens almost directly on to the road) open all the time we were at the pool, or locking it every time and each time one of us wanted to go back to get something from the house we would have to get the keys and unlock the door etc. A key code would help the situation, or ideally, a direct access from the terrace to the pool. Its an inconvenience but not the end of the world!
