Disappointing stay, with unresolved maintenance issues and a dismissive response from management

There were some positives to this property, including the location, parking, shower and general cleanliness. Unfortunately, several issues made my nearly three-week stay disappointing, and the way management responded to my feedback made the experience worse.

During the first few days, a loud buzzing noise disturbed my sleep. I also reported the faulty TV and broken blinds during the first week. I was told these would be noted for maintenance, but neither issue was resolved during my stay. The freezer was also so heavily iced up that it was difficult to fit items inside, and the mattress was extremely uncomfortable, genuinely like sleeping on a pile of rocks. When I raised these concerns, the response regarding the mattress was: “Regarding the mattress, we understand that comfort is subjective.” I found this particularly dismissive. There is a difference between personal preference and a mattress that is genuinely uncomfortable to sleep on. Rather than acknowledging the concern, it felt as though it was being brushed aside. I would invite management to try sleeping on the mattress themselves before dismissing the issue in this way. I was also disappointed by the limited initial supply of essentials for a stay of nearly three weeks. I understand the property is self-serviced and that supplies are not replenished, as management explained, but providing just one sponge, three small toilet rolls and half a bottle of washing-up liquid and kitchen roll felt inadequate for a stay of this length. What disappointed me most was the lack of meaningful acknowledgement of the issues. After I explained why their response was unsatisfactory and gave them an opportunity to address my concerns, I received no further reply. I appreciate that the property has its positives, and I have tried to be fair in recognising them. However, advertised amenities should work as expected, maintenance issues reported early in a stay should be addressed where possible, and guests should feel that legitimate concerns are being taken seriously. Unfortunately, the combination of unresolved faults, a very uncomfortable bed and a dismissive response from management meant that this was not an experience I would want to repeat. I would not stay here again.

The bed/ mattress needs replacing it’s basically like lying on springs poking into you. Tv couldn’t any Channels to upload had to use our own Netflix account to get anything , but the internet connection is extremely slow and intermittent when others were using it.
