El Charco Rooms

Fiona, the owner, went above and beyond to make my stay truly special. I was celebrating my 40th birthday, and she made sure it became one of the most memorable celebrations of my life. Unfortunately, I also met with an accident during my trip, and Fiona went out of her way to help me find medicines and everything else I needed. Her kindness, care and generosity meant so much, especially as I was travelling alone. There is one thing about having a beautiful place to stay, and quite another about having someone who makes you feel at home, cared for and safe in an unfamiliar place. Fiona gave me both.

Nothing

The host, Fiona, is amazing. She's easygoing, flexible, and she'll do everything she can to make you feel at home. She made coffee and cooked a nice dinner for us. She also has a very friendly dog. The apartment is only 1/2 minutes aways from the restaurant area on the waterfront, but is a very quiet area even at night, no problem with sleeping with open window. Fiona's policy of having only 1 guest per room makes it a very relaxed experience. My room had a big wardrobe, a fan, a hairdryer, and a small desk. Expect a home-like accommodation, not a fancy hotel. One of the cheapest options in Lanzarote that still offers enough comfort, privacy and a good location.

Some people might not like that there is no AC. We went mid September and slept comfortably with the window open and the fan. One room has only a window facing the living room. Since it's a prime location, most of the time you have to park 6-7 minutes away - rarely you find a closer spot.

It was very easy to contact the host via WattsApp, great location in Arrecife, very lovely to chat about where to go etc. For the price, it was brilliant and had everything you could reasonably expect and a bit more.
