Misleading and disappointing – No resolution offered
My experience at Kahana Manor 218 was extremely disappointing and far from what was advertised on Booking.com.
1. Misleading Listing: The listing promised a "sea view," but the apartment is on the ground floor, facing a noisy parking lot. The photos do not accurately reflect the reality of the property.
2. Noise Issues: The bedroom faces directly onto the parking lot, with constant noise from cars and an underground ventilation system. This made it nearly impossible to sleep, especially with lights shining into the room despite the curtains.
3. Hygiene Problems: Upon arrival, we found food debris on the floor and even encountered a cockroach in the apartment, which was particularly distressing as my partner has a phobia of cockroaches.
4. Functional Issues: The bathroom sink was broken and unusable, adding to the list of problems.
When I reported these issues to the host, they acknowledged the problems and offered a partial refund for the unused nights. However, they later stated that Booking.com would need to handle the refund. Unfortunately, Booking.com refused to reimburse me, even partially, leaving me with no resolution.
This lack of accountability from both the host and Booking.com was extremely frustrating. I do not recommend this property unless significant changes are made to its maintenance, cleanliness, and listing accuracy. If you value transparency and support during your stay, I would suggest avoiding this accommodation.
