We liked the furnishings! We liked the many original furniture pieces that made the Castle very authentic! We learned the Castle had been in the Family for over 250 years. We were given a tour of the basement where beautiful period clothing, tapestry and embroidered tablecloths, dollies, and home furnishings were displayed. We loved the beautiful grounds and location of the Castle! I even brought a tiara to wear while enjoying the Castle during the day!
We especially loved living with the owner of the Castle, Rosanna. She was very personable. and accommodating. Every breakfast was special with pastry, fruit, bread, delicious coffee. and eggs, etc. There were other special Italian food that made us realize we were in Sicily. Italy! The views from the Castle were breath taking and the winding road up and down made us realize we were on the top of a Mountain. Being on the top of the mountain was beautiful because looking out from the dining room large glass door we could see the Santa Caterina Villarmosa! Rosanna was so sweet to take us to the town for the extensive local street market that sets up on Tuesdays.
We visited Sicily because I was planning to travel to the birth places of my Italian Grandfather and Italian Grandmother. I needed to get an official birth certificate of my Grandfather, and Rosanna was so wonderful to contact the Town Hall (Commune) to speak to the officials. My husband and I do not speak Italian and Rosanna is Italian and speaks fluently. By the time we arrived at the Town Hall we were treated royally because Rosanna paved the way for us to receive the necessary paper work we needed in seeking Italian Citizen. Thank you, Rosanna for all your help! My husband made the included collage as a special thank you to our hostess.
We liked everything about the Castle and enjoyed being with the Owner of the Castle! We would not have changed anything about our visit!

Rosanna is an exceptional friendly and generous host. We enjoyed spending time with her during our very relaxing stay and she made us feel right at home! Our accommodation was very spacious and comfortable and we enjoyed the view of Etna from the castle.

Rosanna is the best host of any B&B I’ve stayed. She truly cares about the experience of her guests, and I appreciated her warm hospitality. She also taught me so much about the history of Santa Caterina Villarmosa. The castle itself is lovely as well with rustic charm, cosy and beautiful rooms. I was enchanted by every little detail and I really appreciated this experience. It wasn’t just checking in and staying somewhere, it was a full on experience and I’m so glad this was my introduction to Sicily.
I didn’t have anything to not like about the property.
