I got accused of breaking a cheap electric fan!

Worst owner ever. The day after I checked out, I got a call from a woman who introduced herself as being from Jupiter Homestay. She said the electric fan in my room was no longer working and implied I was responsible, claiming I was the only one who had access to it after the fact. Her tone was rude. Naturally, I got upset, raised my voice, and admit I used some inappropriate/unprofessional words. But she went ballistic, shouting at the top of her lungs. At one point she said she was the owner (hence my opening line), then started playing the victim. She called me uneducated and even attacked my “man card.” It got ugly. After she hung up, I texted to apologize for the words I used. That’s on me and I will own up to that. But unless there is a secret camera in the room, none of us can prove what really happened to the fan. But, what I did not tell her is that I take a lot of videos. Here is more context. I left my belongings in the lobby early that morning. I was there for a bike race. I checked in at 7:00 PM and left at 4:30 AM. Around 1:20 PM, after the race, I returned to get my bag. I took a chance and asked if I could pay 200 (their excess hourly rate), so I could shower in any available room. They agreed and as fate would have it, they sent me back to the same room, 206. I have attached photos of the room and the electric fan. It is not much, but it shows the fan had moved between my 4:30 AM checkout and my 1:20 PM return. Also, the room had already been cleaned, so the claim that only I had access is incorrect. Take this as you will. I have apologized for my words. But she was the one who called, accused me, shouted (no, screamed), then hung up. And she is the hotel owner. All this over a cheap electric fan.

Great place to stay! The staff were very accommodating and made our stay comfortable. Perfect for those traveling for work since the location is convenient, just a few minutes from the main road and nearby establishments. Space is also clean and you can also order food if you’re staying in.
