Disappointing and unacceptable experience

Close to the beach. Nothing else.

We booked this apartment for 10 nights and unfortunately had to leave after the first night. We arrived late at night and had significant difficulty accessing the property. Despite following the check-in instructions, we spent around 45 minutes outside the building trying to gain access. Eventually, local residents had to help us enter and locate the apartment. Once inside, we were extremely disappointed by the condition of the apartment. It was not properly cleaned or prepared for guests. There was a dirty toilet and toilet brush with visible waste, dust on the bedside tables, stains on the walls and wallpaper, and a used artificial nail left on the bedside table. One of the electrical sockets was also not working. We immediately reported the problems and the property management apologised and offered to send a cleaner. However, we had booked accommodation that should have been clean and ready before our arrival, not accommodation requiring cleaning after check-in. Given the late hour, the difficult arrival and the unhygienic condition of the apartment, we no longer felt comfortable staying there and moved to alternative accommodation the following morning. What was particularly disappointing was that, despite acknowledging that the apartment had not been cleaned to their standards, the management later suggested that we had simply "not liked the apartment". This was not a matter of personal preference. The issues were objective and documented with photographs. We would not recommend this property and would strongly advise future guests to be cautious. Overall: very disappointing experience and certainly not the standard we expected for the price paid.
