Cold, dirty, no wifi, no cell service, too remote.

The decor was very nice

1. No WiFi. Most of the time the Wifi was out. We unplugged the router about every 15 minutes to reset it only to have it go out again minutes later. 2. It's not in Chambord. It's about an 8 minute ride from there into the middle of nowhere. It's a food desert. No grocery store near by, the only nearby restaurant was closed all weekend. You really have to drive to Blois (30 minutes) to have any dining options. 3. It is so remote I had no service on my cell phone. I could get one bar if I went outside and crossed the street but it kept dropping calls because of the poor service. Really. It's in the middle of nowhere. 4. At first glance it looked clean but the floors were filthy. Walking barefooted felt like sand was on all floors. There were several cobwebs and if you look closely you can see not once in a LONG time has anything under furniture has been dusted. Under the bed was gross. My allergies went crazy from the dust. 5. They tape over (with cardboard) and lock the A/C and heating so you have no control over it. We froze the entire time we were there with no way to turn up the heat. This was the cheapest owner I have ever seen! I have never rented a place where I couldn't turn on the heat when it was cold. 6. They don't have a way to message the owners, you have to call them but they only speak French. Had I been able to message them rather than call, I could use my translator app. 7. The stairs to upstairs are basically a ladder. They are too narrow and too steep for anyone with the slightest mobility issues. See picture. In summary, we felt stranded with no Wifi or cell service. We couldn't find food nearby, we were cold and couldn't turn up the heat and the floors were filthy and we risked breaking our necks trying to climb the stairs.

Un très grand merci pour ce gite si agréable et fonctionnel. J'avais lu que le wifi ne fonctionnait pas. Je n'ai eu aucun problème de connexion pour mon télé-travail. J'ai beaucoup apprécié la décoration si belle et originale ainsi que le calme du jardin. Le gite est situé proches des châteaux et des circuits à vélo. Je donne l'adresse à des amis et y reviendrais, c'est sur.

Le fait de ne pas pouvoir faire un feu de cheminée car la maison était bien fraiche le soir et un petit feu aurait été le bienvenu
