Moxy Sydney Airport

A good vibe in the hotel foyer with quiz night and lots of people being social. Nicely designed room that offered everything you needed for a quick overnight stay before an international flight.

Being charged for drinks I didn't consume was a surprise which was quickly taken care of after my stay. Still something that puzzled me and having to fix while I was on my travels.

Location and food

No fridge, tiny rooms, nowhere for luggage

The Moxy is a great place to stay that is super close to the Domestic Terminal. It's a bit more affordable than the other hotels in the area, and it has a sleek, clean design while optimizing the size of the room with chairs and tables that fold up and hang on the wall. I really enjoy the dining/lounge, and common space area. It is easy to work in, or have friends drop in to visit and have drinks or supper. The food was really tasty and well done. Also, if you get there after hours, they have a canteen where you can buy sandwiches, chips, drinks etc.

The decor concept and execution in the room is great.

Checkin - the entry experience, starting from the airport. The shuttle service is awful. While waiting at the airport we watched driver interaction with other travellers - awful. Those guys hate their job and their customers. The warden was overtly racist - we were squirming in discomfort watching on helplessly. The shuttle could barely get up the road to the hotel in the rain - we were disembarked in the middle of the road with cars waiting impatiently for the bus to get out the way. On entry into the hotel the primary experiences are (1) backs of people facing you in every direction (2) stressful bar noise - loud music and talking. There isn't even a clear sign of where to stand to check in.
