The Manoir de la Bégaudièr is without doubt an eleven out of ten. It is perfectly located, a stones throw from the town of Dol De Bretagne , which has all your culinary needs -( i would recommend the huge Super U over the terrible Carrefour) and perfectly placed between St Malo and Mont Saint Michel.
The owners Clement and Anne Marie are very welcoming and always ready to chat and recommend restraunts and local places to visit.
They are passionate about what they do. it is a lifestyle choice for them and not a money making project...(of course its a commercial opperation -but it never feels that way). There are many little things that make for the comfort of guests that hotels etc would economise on but here it is obvious that guest happiness is more important to them than economising. And in that regard, our stay as a couple in October was incredible value. (i can imagine it might be double in the summer -but i would still pay happily).
Clement met us on arrival and my partner asked about heating although it seemed fine to me and clement turned on the radiator at a temperature that we lowered almost immediately . clearly our comfort was more important than energy saving. Hot water! Hot , Hot , Hot. And lots of it : ). I did read every review befor booking, i am sad like that , and we chose the Jaques Cartier appartment which was just perfect, spacious and had the bedroom on the floor above, and the stairs (contrary to some reviews were surprisingly wide afte the bottom two steps ). Anyway, i also chose it for the walk in shower which is absolutley superb. Did i say hot water? A huge shower head with almost power shower pressure....Incredibly refreshing before and after miles of non stop tourist activities during the day.
The bathroom was better than a few 4 star hotels that i have stayed at in the last few years. Very high quality towells of decent size, speciality boutique shower gel shampoos....Soaps.
I am a man but i loved the bathroom.

The grounds and accommodation are just beautiful. We stayed here with our 6 month old baby and it was the perfect way to finish off our trip in France. Anne-Marie is an incredible host - communication was great! It’s a perfect location for trips into St Malo and Mont St Michel! We will definitely be back!

The location is very good. Also nice walks from the property
The furnishings were very old and tired, the decor could have been put together better to make the stay more enjoyable.
