Do not stay here. The property was not presented as advertised and was not worth the price.

The house was spacious and check-in was straightforward. Unfortunately, any positives were outweighed by significant cleanliness and maintenance issues.

We found long black hairs on the bed sheets in the front bedroom, unpleasant odours throughout the house and a strong smell coming from the plumbing. One toilet repeatedly blocked, the toilet seat in the other bathroom was broken, and the air conditioning did not adequately cool the back bedroom. The bathrooms were not clean. We also had concerns about the security of the property. The laundry was shared with the garage area at the back, where numerous bags, boxes and personal belongings were piled up outside, giving the impression that someone had moved out of the house and was living in the garage. While there was an internal door between the laundry and the kitchen, there was no way for us to lock off the external access to the house. This made us feel uncomfortable and significantly impacted our sense of privacy and security during the stay. For this reason, we did not raise the issues during our stay or request maintenance visits. We were not comfortable having people entering the property while we were there. When we raised the issues afterwards, the host said replacement sheets and air freshener could have been provided. In our view, guests should not be expected to change unclean bedding themselves, and air freshener will not solve strong drain odour. A blocked toilet, broken toilet seat and inadequate air conditioning are maintenance issues that should have been identified and addressed before guests arrived. We were also disappointed that the listing described Universal Studios as being within walking distance. Only after we booked did the host confirm the property was approximately 9.8 miles away. Overall, the property was not clean, properly maintained or accurately advertised. Combined with the privacy and security concerns, the property fell well short of the price charged.
