We had a wonderful stay at The Vineyard Country House. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Montagu and within easy walking distance of the Spar, Montagu Hotel, and many lovely shops and cafes.
Estelle was a fantastic host: warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. She shared some excellent local recommendations that made our visit even more enjoyable. The property itself is a peaceful oasis, with beautifully maintained gardens and a charming vineyard that clearly reflects Hein's passion and dedication.
One of the highlights of our stay was Estelle's delicious breakfasts. The banana bread was such a wonderful bonus each morning, and the fried tomatoes were absolutely outstanding. We're still wondering what the secret ingredient was because they were some of the tastiest we've ever had!
We particularly loved the relaxing atmosphere and our private patio, which was the perfect spot to enjoy both sunrise and sunset. The outdoor shower was a lovely touch and something we'd definitely make use of on a warmer visit.
Everything was perfect, and we left feeling refreshed and relaxed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend The Vineyard Country House to anyone visiting Montagu.

The location within town was great. The premises on the vineyard & pool with backdrop of mountains, stunning. Breakfast was 10/10.

We loved the location - beautiful gardens and easy access to restaurants in Montagu. Other plus points were the honesty bar, a fridge in our room, and the private stoep with comfortable chairs. Everything was done with care to ensure a comfortable stay for guests. The pool looked beautiful although we did not go in.
The only downside was the guest in the next room who was a smoker. The only way to avoid this is for us to stay in a totally non-smoking guest house or for the wall between the verandahs to go right up to the roof. It wouldn't stop us from booking here again as it was just bad luck.
