Casa Rocha is not about luxury. It's about charm, authenticity, and experiencing the real Douro. The apartments sit above the owners' butcher shop in the heart of Pinhão, a working wine village that remains refreshingly unspoiled despite being the center of the Douro Valley. The owners are warm and welcoming. Communication in English was limited, but that only added to the fun and authenticity of the experience.
The highlight is the rooftop terrace and deck. The view over the river and terraced vineyards looks like something straight out of a Viking River Cruise brochure. A perfect place for sunset and a glass of local wine.
We had the opportunity to see all three apartments. None are extravagant, but all are comfortable, cozy, and full of character. The three-bedroom apartment is the standout choice, followed by the two-bedroom (where we stayed) with the one-bedroom still being a very comfortable option. All guests share access to the excellent terrace and viewing deck.

The location in the town was good but lots of steep steps to access the room. Very clean room the bedding and towels were very clean. Good air con but very cramped. The best thing was the roof terrace
No hand rails, very cramped. No windows you could see out of.
