We had such a wonderful experience here! We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. Simon, his daughter, and the entire staff were absolutely fantastic and made us feel so welcome.
They helped us organise all our visits, both in the city and to the Simien Mountains, and introduced us to Mass, our guide, whom we highly recommend.
The location is fantastic, and the breakfast is simply unbelievable! Another lovely touch was that every evening, the security guard walked with us to a nearby restaurant to make sure we were safe. This level of care and hospitality really made our stay special.
Thank you so much to Simon and all the staff for making our stay so memorable. We will miss you all and would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!
The only downside was that, on two of our three nights, there were religious ceremonies at the church opposite the hotel, with loudspeakers that were particularly loud on one of the nights. Of course, this is beyond the hotel’s control, and the staff kindly provided us with earplugs to help.

Мы остались очень довольны нашим пребыванием в Гондаре. Уже ещё до заселения мы были уверены, что сделали правильный выбор. Саймон, хозяин отеля, ещё до нашего приезда очень подробно и заботливо рассказал нам о месте, куда мы едем, его особенностях и обо всём, что могло быть для нас важно. Он действительно переживал за наш комфорт и безопасность.
По приезде Саймон очень тепло нас встретил. Его целью было не просто обеспечить нам комфортное проживание, а максимально показать город и его окрестности и сделать наше пребывание по-настоящему уютным и домашним.
Он совершенно бесплатно организовал для нас экскурсию по городу, а также замечательный треккинг в горах. Саймон — прекрасный собеседник, с ним очень интересно общаться и узнавать больше о Гондаре, Эфиопии и местной жизни.
Но особенно мы оценили его заботу, когда мой партнёр заболел. Саймон буквально взял ситуацию в свои руки: приготовил лечебный отвар, каждый вечер приносил чай и травы и очень внимательно следил за его состоянием. Благодаря его заботе партнёр очень быстро пошёл на поправку.
В итоге мы чувствовали себя не как обычные постояльцы отеля, а словно приехали в гости к заботливому другу.
Уезжали мы с лёгкой грустью — не только по этому прекрасному месту, но и по человеку, который сделал наше пребывание здесь таким особенным. Спасибо, Саймон, за ваше гостеприимство, заботу и тепло! Обязательно будем рекомендовать это место другим путешественникам.
Мы попали в дни православного поста и утром около 5-6 часов начиналась молитва. До 9-10 утра было очень громко, так как отель расположен между 3 церквями, которые соревновались - кто громче и у кого мощнее громкоговоритель. Спать, конечно, было невозможно. Проверяйте график постов перед приездом :)

Owner Simon is very nice and friendly guy. He explained us everything we needed to know about the city and options to visit and eat. Also even there is a warning from governments about traveling to this region, the city is totally safe. We even walked in the night from restaurant and besides meeting some dogs, we were ok. The location can't be better, you are right next to the castle complex.
