had a wonderful stay at Houseboat Wild Rose in Kashmir. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the homemade food was delicious. Faizan and his family were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. They made me feel like part of their family rather than just a guest.
What made my experience even more special was that they organised a 3-day trek for me in the Himalayas. Everything was arranged so well, and it gave me the opportunity to experience the natural beauty of Kashmir in a truly unforgettable way.
As a traveller, I felt safe, comfortable, and well taken care of throughout my stay. The beautiful views of Dal Lake and the surrounding mountains made it even more special. Staying at Houseboat Wild Rose was one of the best decisions I made during my trip to Kashmir. ❤️ From the moment I arrived, I felt so welcomed and comfortable that it truly felt like a home away from home. The warmth, kindness, and genuine hospitality made my experience extra special.
A special mention to Faizan, who is honestly such an incredible person. He is kind-hearted, thoughtful, and always willing to go the extra mile to help his guests. He helped me with travel plans, suggested beautiful places to explore, and made sure I could experience the real beauty of Kashmir, including its breathtaking mountains and trekking trails.
What I appreciated most was how genuinely he cared about making my stay enjoyable. His hospitality never felt forced; it came naturally, and that makes a huge difference when you’re travelling somewhere new. The peaceful atmosphere, beautiful views of Dal Lake, and the feeling of being treated like family made this stay unforgettable.
Sometimes, it’s not just the places you visit but the people you meet who make a journey truly special. Faizan and the team at Wild Rose made my Kashmir experience beautiful in ways I will always remember. I would wholeheartedly recommend Houseboat Wild Rose to anyone visiting Srinagar. A truly attentive and caring staff, always available. The meals served on board were very good, with home-cooked Kashmiri food. The location is ideal, far from the busy ghats and right in the middle of the lake: complete peace, birds, passing shikaras, and beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the deck. The facilities are very decent for a houseboat, especially this far from the shore (about 20-30 minutes by shikara). An authentic experience I recommend.
Just one small point: maybe a few repairs in the bathroom would make everything absolutely perfect.

The location was lovely, it’s not a short trip to the shore but it is incredibly peaceful. The family are very nice and helpful.
The houseboat wasn’t at all as the photos showed. I was expecting a private bathroom and this wasn’t the case. The houseboat I ended up on was okay but quite basic. The rooms small and the pillows really needed updating.
